Launched in September 1994, The London & UK DatebooK has become a key diary for organisers of prestigious social events, with particular attention to the charity sector, throughout the UK. This quarterly publication is the only one of its kind in the UK and is designed specifically for and about special events and fundraising. It provides an ideal means of targeting the event organisers and the committees that run some of the biggest and best known special events in the UK.
- Controlled circulation in excess of 3,000 copies each quarter; a readership in excess of 18,000. The only publication that has a listing of over 350 special events throughout the UK in each issue.
- 1,500 copies go to special event managers and fundraisers in charities throughout the UK and 1,300 copies go to heads of entertainment in corporations, companies that service the event business and individuals involved in voluntary efforts.
- An article on charity committees in the 24 February 2002 Sunday Telegraph Magazine had this to say about The DatebooK: "Committees must also consult social diaries such as The London & UK DatebooK and Tatler’s ‘Venue Clicquot Guide to the Season’ to ensure that their event does not clash with some other grand fundraiser."
AEM - ASSOCIATION OF EVENT MANAGERS:
The publication is very active in sponsoring the activities of the Association of Event Managers (AEM), an association of individuals that organise, service, plan and sponsor events with special attention to the charity sector.
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH:
From 1998 to 2002, the publication supported a bursary for students in the BA (Hons) Event Management Degree Course offered by the UK Centre for Events Management at Leeds Metropolitan University. Commencing in 2003, the publication now financially assists students in The London School of Tourism, Hospitality & Leisure at Thames Valley University London.
Copies of the publication are distributed at Leeds Metropolitan University, Blackpool and the Fylde College, Clarendon City College, City of Westminster College and Thames Valley University, The London School of Tourism, Hospitality & Leisure.
